What is your preferred raiding spec? Please describe your Talent Point choices in detail. What glyphs do you use and why?
Feral DPS 0/34/7. Pretty standard DPS spec for a Feral DPS. Specc'ing as Feral is pretty straighforward as their isn't a lot of choice when it comes to DPS talents so it's pretty hard to mess up. My glyph setup is the following: Prime - Berserk, Shred, Rip Major - Feral Charge, Rebirth, Faerie Fire. I chose the maximum optimal DPS setup for my Prime glyhps. The only thing I would like to say is that I feel the rebirth glyph is absolutely mandatory for PvE. Having someone come up @ 100% HP after a battle rez is absolutely vital.
Please describe your rotation/priority list in detail. Tanks: What is your rotation for maximum threat? When do you consider using your cool downs? Healers: What abilities do you use when you're tank healing? Raid healing? When do you use your cool downs?
Feral Priority system is as follows:
Keep Feral Faerie Fire up.
Keep Mangle up.
Use Tiger's Fury on cooldown.
Use Berserk on cooldown, unless you need to save it for a burn phase. If using a DPS potion, stack it with Berserk.
5CP Ferocious Bite to keep Rip up during Blood in the Water phase (boss sub-25%) If Rip is about to drop, use FB at any CPs to refresh it.
5CP Rip whenever it drops (don’t put Rip up with less than 5, except for situations where you have to move away from the boss).
Rake whenever it drops.
Savage Roar whenever it drops.
5CP Ferocious Bite (if you have 10+ seconds left on Savage Roar/Rip).
Shred to generate CP’s.
What are your primary professions? Are they maxed? Why did you choose these professions?
My chosen professions are Leatherworking and Engineering. Engineering has always been a personal favorite and now that they have made it viable (with the last few expansions) I don't ever see myself dropping it. Synapse Springs are very nice couple with Tiger's Fury and Berserk. I choose leatherworking because of the 130+ bracer enchant and cheap leg enchants. I originally had alchemy in this slot but after guild cauldrons came out alchemy just didn't seem all that exciting to me anymore.
Do you have Ventrilo?
How did you hear about us? Do you have any references within the guild?
I was contacted via my post by Jumpingbear on the WoW forums here:
What were your previous guilds and why did you leave? (Be specific):
First off, I apologize for the length here. I try to keep my guild history detailed like a resume. My complete WoW guild history (5 years now!) is as follows:
<Permafrost> of Illidan, US PvP as Skunkape - Guild disbanded around the time Naxxaramas came out due to poor attendance and people were getting tired of 40-man raids.
<Blood Legion> of Illidan, US PvP as Skunkape - I joined Blood Legion because it contained a few old guildmates from <Permafrost>. I was recruited as their 2nd Feral Druid as they had one leaving for school/work reasons. All was well while we were farming SSC/TK/Hyjal/BT. However, once Sunwell opened it up it became apparent that I wasn't going to be used as often as I was looking for. Once I was the labeled the #2 feral raiding regularly was pretty much over for me (a rarity in those days to have 2 ferals). I made the difficult decision to leave after most of my friends in BL decided to retire from the game.
<Terrible> - of Malorne, US PvP as Remo - This was my first serious raiding guild in WotLK. I was recruited as a Feral DPS. I was actually promoted to officer in this guild. The reason I left was because 75% of the people I was raiding with had no desire to play or succeed in the new endgame that Blizzard has chosen for us (IE hardmodes/achievements). They spent the majority of their time bitching about the state of WoW or how "easy" the content was even though we had yet to do a single hard mode in Ulduar. Additionally, raids were becoming increasingly harder to fill. The guild actually collapsed due to people going to play Warhammer Online (yes, lol I know).
<Seriously Casual> - of Sargeras, US PvP as Battlecat/Sting - I callled this guild home for the majority of WotLk. I chose to take advantage of the faction change and try out the Alliance as I've had never played a toon of the opposite faction during my entire time with WoW. After a bit of searching I settled on SC thinking it might be a solid fit. Initially, all was well when I joined. However, over time I just didn't "click" with the guild even after I was made member. I don't think I can name one person I've actually become friends with in SC and believe me it wasn't for the lack of trying. Guild chat was usually dormant after raids. I'm playing this game to have fun and the bottom line was that I wasn't having any there. I want to look forward to logging on not dread it. Additionally, I left to play with my two friends (Shaman & Shadow Priest) who I had discovered were playing the game again. This was a decision I would come to regret later on.
<Blades of Wrath> of Icecrown, US PvE as Skunkape - I joined this guild w/ my aforementioned 2 friends. All was well for the first couple of weeks and then I noticed my friends logging on less and less. They eventually informed me they were quitting the game and left me there alone. I continued and finished my trial and was made member. I accomplished quite a few things while I was there (Tribute to Immortality, Server First Heroic Arthas 25) but I've never really felt as if I fit in there. It just felt like I was logging on for raids and then back out for the week. I have nothing but nice things to say about this guild. They were friendly and their leadership was great but just wasn't the place for me.
<Just Crusade> of Elune, US PvE as Logan - This was my most recent guild (as I started out Cata trying to raid 10 mans with friends) in Cataclysm. I was 13/13 HM with this guild as well as many server firsts - Nefarian, Sinestra etc. I have nothing but nice things to say about the people I played with here. All of the officers are great people and was generally a fun place to play. However, I had a very personal issue occur to me during my tenure here and I was forced to make the hard decision to sell my account to help raise money. It was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make but I had to do it. I handled my exit from this guild rather poorly but as I said before it really couldn't be helped. I was totally blindsided by real life and I dropped EVERYTHING until I had it sorted. My life has now re-stabilized and all my problems have been sorted. I've now re-leveled a new druid and I'm ready to return to successful raiding in WoW.
What is your current and previous raid experience? Please include prior characters, and be specific (ex. 15/15 Naxx, Sarth +3, ICC25 11/12 HM):
My progression is as follows:
- 13/13 Heroic (25r) experience with Cataclysm raiding content (have not experienced Firelands yet)
- 12/12 ICC (HM, 25r) experience as well Vanilla-TBC exp. including pre nerf kills on M'uru and Kiljaeden
I have not yet experienced Firelands. I am returning from an almost 2 month absence from the game.
How did/do you learn about your class mechanics? Do you remain updated on changes?
I follow the Feral Druid thread on Elitist Jerk's forums as well as the Fluid Druid Blog. I use Learn2Raid/TankSpot for videos on all current content.
Please post a picture of your User Interface using the following website, www.imgur.com with all relevant keybindings shown. If your UI does not convey all of your important keybindings, elaborate Please list your major mods (DBM, Big Wigs, etc).
My shifts are bound to F1-F4, Battle Rez to F5. I use keys 1-7 as well as a Razer Naga mouse for multiple keybinds.
Major raiding mods I use include - Deadly Boss Mods and GTFO.
What is your availability? Are you able to make all raid days and times? (Mon-Thurs, 7:30p-11:30p CST)
I currently work Fri/Sat nights & Sun mornings. I goto school during the week during the morning. I can currently make all of your raid times. There will be an occasional days where I will be late because I get called into work but these instances are usually very rare but I always like to tell people upfront so their are no confusion.
How old are you? Do you consider yourself mature?
I am 31 years old. I consider myself mature. As I've grown older playing this game you really start to pick out the irritating nature of most of the people that play this game. I'm looking to play with a tight-knit group and have fun while doing it. PUGs make me want to claw my eyes out.
Tell us about yourself (job, school, lifestyle, etc):
I'm currently working weekends waiting tables @ a upscale Italian restaurant while I put myself through school (again. Hooray for switching careers). I enjoy playing basketball/softball in my off time and watching shows such as: Spartacus, Justified, Destination Truth, True Blood, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Family Guy and Venture Bros.
What do you expect from us?
I expect <Play> to operate like any other successful raiding guild. To have a tight knit group of core raiders who still like to play this game. Ideally be mature but know when is the right time to have fun. I don't mind joking around but I expect people to be on top of their games while in raid because no one likes to have their time wasted.
Why do we want you?
I feel that I am in the upper tier of Feral Druids worldwide. I have a firm grasp on the Feral DPS priority list/rotation and I would love the chance to raid with Play. I can promise you that you will always get 110% from me and when I do make mistakes I will own up to them. Im also still very interested in playing WoW so I'm in it for the long haul.
Do you have a Blizzard Authenticator? If answered no, will you be willing to get one if accepted to the guild?
I have a authenticator installed on my account.
I've spent the past 2 weeks leveling this druid. I've already managed to throw together a raid ready set of gear (ilevel 363 ish) with all of the proper enchants/gems. I understand that I do still lack gear but I'm a proven player with considerable raiding experience that knows how to take on end-game content. I've been playing a druid since closed beta in 04' so I really would like to stress the experience level I'm bringing to the table.
