What is your preferred raiding spec? Please describe your Talent Point choices in detail. What glyphs do you use and why?
Glyphs: As protection I keep most of the same glyphs in almost all of the time, but do swap a few almost every fight at the same time. The ones that stay in are: Glyph of Shield of the Righteous, Glyph of Seal of Truth, Glyph of Ascetic Crusader, and Glyph of Lay on Hands.
The glyphs that I often swap are: Glyph of Focused Shield, Glyph of Judgement, Glyph of Hammer of the Righteous and Glyph of Holy Wrath, with the occasional Glyph of Divine Protection but not often.
I use glyph of Judgement and Focused Shield on single target fights where hitting one target is more important that hitting multiple, examples being Baleroc, Beth'tilac and Shannox. I use glyph of hammer of the Righteous and glyph of holy wrath when the fight depends more on multi-taget damage. An example of when I use these glyphs is Lord Rhyollith.
Gear: For most of my tanking gear I tend to meet socket bonuses (gems), always have and most likely always will. Putting in a mastery gem for the sake of extra mastery, but losing out on the gem socket bonus would certainly drop my stamina by a good amount (seeing as though the bonus is stamina, which at the moment all of my bonuses are). I have the most effective enchants to increase my mitigation as much as I can. Since I am taking advantage of the movement speed bonus from "Pursuit of Justice" in my talent tree, I am able to enchant my boots with +50 mastery. Mastery is the best stat for protection paladins at the moment, so I am putting as much into my gear as I can without losing out to much in other stats. I regorge into Mastery when I can and my secondary stat that I turn to is either Dodge or Parry, which, last time I checked, were .1% off from one another, therefore I have made my dodge and my parry within 1% of each other, most protection paladins I know have found this most effective as well.
Talents: Although I hate to use this term, my spec really is the "cookie cutter" spec for Prot paladins. The only differences I have seen are a point or two in Hallowed Ground, which basically makes consecration more mana efficient and makes it do a bit more damage, which is pointless since at the moment it is a very weak spell. Another difference is two points in Eternal Glory, which gives a 30% chance that my Word of glory does not consume holy power, I have not found this worth while because even on fights where self-healing makes a difference, WoG does not heal for much and the holy power for threat is more important as a tank, thats my opinion at least. I have tested this talent a few times, and a lot of the time the proc does not even happen and the healing done by it has not made a formidable difference.
Hopefully this was the detail you were looking for, if not please let me know and I will gladly elaborate on what ever you would like me to.
Please describe your rotation/priority list in detail. Tanks: What is your rotation for maximum threat? When do you consider using your cool downs? Healers: What abilities do you use when you're tank healing? Raid healing? When do you use your cool downs?
0. (Below 20% - Hammer of Wrath)
1. Shield of the Righteous
2. Avenger's Shield
3. Crusader Strike/Hammer of the Righteous (AoE, milti-target)
5. Holy Wrath
6. Concecration (If I have alot of mana and nothing else ready)
Spells for prot really come down to situational though... for instance. On heroic Rhyollith I will always save holy wrath and Avenger's shield if fragments are about to come up, or on Ragnaros when transition phases are about to happen. So really that priority above is just for if I am sitting there not having to worry about anything else happening in the fight anytime soon. Obviously I incorporate Avenging wrath and Divine plea CD's (insta 3 holy power) into rotation during heavy dps moments (i.e: Hatchlings on Heroic Alysrazor) Although never have I used Divine plea during heroic Baleroc since I cannot afford to lose any self healing done.
Protection Paladin rotation also comes down to use of Proc's, for instance when the "Grand Crusader" ability procs and the CD on Avenger's Shield is reset, that will then become first priority unless I already have three holy power built up, in that case Shield of Righteous still has priority.
What are your primary professions? Are they maxed? Why did you choose these professions?
Yes, both are maxed.
I chose these because they make formidable raiding professions with the bonus mastery gems and the bonus 120 stamina for rings.
But mostly I was sick of having to find and enchanter and a JC every time i got a new piece of gear, so I wanted to be self-reliant
Do you have Ventrilo?
How did you hear about us? Do you have any references within the guild?
No I do not have any references, I have never had a character on your realm.
What were your previous guilds and why did you leave? (Be specific):
Ancients of Azeroth- Left because progress was not where it should have been when BWD and BoT released
Future - guild was incompetent and I took a break to PvP and left the guild.
Sprokets- Progress was not where I wanted it to try and make it high in world rank.
Lacuna - Slow Progress through heroic FL because people were not willing to focus on fights
Meridian- Lied to me about their need for a tank. They said they needed a prot pally, so I applied and was accepted. I then transferred and found out they had two tanks that had been in the guild for a long time and a permanent spot was not available when they said it was. Was never even given a shot to prove myself because neither tank wanted to sit.
V A N Q U I S H - raiders were no longer interested in WoW as much as they were other games. Raiders were asking to sit to play Battlefield 3 and many were thinking of taking a break when Star Wars the Old Republic came out. I want to be around players focused on WoW during raid times.
What is your current and previous raid experience? Please include prior characters, and be specific (ex. 15/15 Naxx, Sarth +3, ICC25 11/12 HM):
Pre BC: Was not playing.
TBC: Began playing towards the end, was figuring out what class to roll, chose pally and cleared a bit of Kara before wotlk came out.
11/12 HM ICC
12/14 Uld, 14/14 Uld after next patch
5/13 HM: The guild I was in was pretty incompetent so I took a break and PvP'd mostly during this tier, was a huge mistake because now that lack of experience while it was relevant content has killed me on apps like this, its not that I could not have cleared 13/13 HM, I was tired of the guild I was in, I am looking to raid with more serious people, like Obsidium.
6/7 HM FL, with experience on all of HM rag on 25 man.
How did/do you learn about your class mechanics? Do you remain updated on changes?
I follow MMO-champion on a daily basis to see upcoming changes on my class. I learned how to efficiently play my class during TBC mostly by experience with others of that class, I have used elitistjerks, wowhead and top end guild forums/combat logs. Since then I have completely mastered all three specs within my class. I am definitely looking forward to the word of glory changes in 5.0 so that Prot pally's can use it as a heal, an absorb or for additional block.

http://imgur.com/D1SfD Note: I do way more than 8.2k dps in raids (what it shows on my recount in the pic)... I could not even hit the boss when the other tank taunted or I would pull threat back.

What is your availability? Are you able to make all raid days and times? (Mon-Thurs, 7:30p-11:30p CST)
Yes. I will be at 100% of the raids, the only time I have ever missed raid was final exams last year (I am in college), and I only sat out for one night because there was someone there who could fill in so that I could study. So I would say maybe one or two nights per year I would miss because of finals (I only have 1-2 finals per semester).
How old are you? Do you consider yourself mature?
20, yes I am very mature both inside and outside of raids. I take raiding very seriously and will do what ever it takes to progress quickly.
Tell us about yourself (job, school, lifestyle, etc):
I am a Sophomore in College, I love playing WoW and am on A LOT of the time. I will do what ever it takes to help the guild, whether it mean switching my mainspec for raids or farming mats for consumables so we have cauldrons, feasts, etc..
I also go to the gym almost every day, since I am in college I need to look good for the girls ; )
What do you expect from us?
-VERY focused raiders who do not die to the same thing time and time again.
-A guild whose members enjoy playing WoW outside of raids.
-Do not give up on fights even if it takes hours or days to kill a progression boss.
-Expect every pull to be a kill pull and not have the mentality that since we wiped before we will probably wipe again.
Why do we want you?
I have taken on the role of main tank since I began hardcore raiding in the beginning of wotlk, I am very comfortable with calling things out and making smart decisions on the fly. Being a tank is much more than just holding threat and getting smacked in the face. I take pride in knowing my class, maximizing my survivability and timing my defensive and offensive CD's correctly. I am extremely dedicated to WoW and raiding, I will do what ever it takes to progress quickly and I NEVER miss raids. I also just got the year long commitment for 5.0 beta (as I am sure many others did), so I would be with you guys for the long run as long as everything works out.
I am always looking to improve my play in any way that I can, and being in a hardcore guild will push me to be the best. I am looking to be a part of a very strong core group of raiders who can push through progression quickly and not have raiders die to stupid shit time and time again. To put it simply, I want to be the best while raiding with the best.
